Anxiety or concern about our performance can be exaggerated and become out of proportion to the demands of the situation. The symptoms of anxiety correlate with the stress response of fight, flight or freeze. This is a primal response that protects you against threats in your environment. An increase in adrenaline causes your heart to beat faster, you may feel as if you are on high alert, unable to calm down or relax, your mind may race unable to focus or quieten down. This may lead to underperforming or even avoiding situations that provoke this response.

Hypnotherapy for performance anxiety aims to access your unconscious mind, using the power of suggestions to help you learn what triggers your anxiety, teaching you how to regain a sense of control and a deep sense of relaxation. Positive visualisation and rehearsal of future scenarios is also used to achieve enhanced performance.

Public Speaking
